The next day after the event, participants can log on to the speed dating company website and indicate whom they are interested in meeting again. When a match is made, both parties are notified so they can use the site’s email replay to talk to one another and plan a future meet up.

The main boon of speed dating is that you can meet a variety of possible partners face to face which is infinitely better than just seeing a photo. You can tell whether someone is interesting and copes well with the pressure of being rushed.

If you take a while to warm up or get nervous talking to lots of strange people, speed dating might not be for you. But if you are a little shy or not shy at all, you might find you love it.

If you know you only have a few minutes to impress someone, you can only fail for a short time. This knowledge can make you feel more relaxed and you will probably do better than you expect to.

Many speed dating events take place in cities where there are enough residents to ensure a busy evening and if you live in a smaller town, there might not be enough interested people to make it worthwhile. In small towns, though, people often already know each other already. If you haven’t found anyone there, you can easily travel into the nearest city and try out speed dating for yourself!
